Preparation

Preparation
Whether you have reflected during Advent in other years or not; whether you have blogged or not, give it a try.

Let’s begin.

What is Advent? Advent is a four-week season leading up to Christmas. Some of us have memories of advent calendars where we open a small window, one for each day of December where we find a chocolate treat. We will do a similar thing—except the treat is not a chocolate. Our treat will be a moment of ‘real time.’

Advent can be a challenging season because there is so much to do such as:
  • shopping for Christmas present
  • going to parties
  • decoration outside and inside the house
  • organizing family Christmas dinners
  • attending special events, and so on

Some of us love all this hustle and bustle but even so find the season too busy.

And some of us find this glitzy season empty and unreal.

Whether we are busy with all the Christmas preparation activities, or whether we are more inclined to opt out of the seasonal bluster, let’s take a short trip each day of Advent into our innermost thoughts and listen for a new voice of God.

Feel free to post your thoughts, or some images, or photos, as you reflect. Or, simply enjoy your meditative moment all to yourself. It’s your personal trip into ‘real time,’ a real authentic moment with yourself.

Enjoy the trip!
Abigail
